With a Masters in Advertising and Bachelors in Radio-Television-Film from the University of Texas at Austin, Freddie Rodriguez aka freddie beat loves entertainment and pop culture.  His Panamanian heritage and Northeast El Paso, Texas-upbringing speak to his personal mantra, individuality trumps conformity every time.

He considers himself a Creative Dabbler, having put on different creative hats through the years because of these eclectic interests.

His most recent creative incarnation was that of music blogger.  Under this hat, he created and produced the Austin, Texas music blogazine, THE REAL popolio, which ran from September 15, 2008 through November 27, 2011.

During this time, he also contributed interviews to Popular Hispanics and therepubliq, also based in Austin, and created and produced a music site, called Urb’l (Urban Cool) Remedy, for an independent entertainment company in Puerto Rico (formerly New York City), that he ran like a weekly column.

As a Creative Dabbler, he’s managed a hip hop dance crew, founded a slam poetry organization, and spearheaded arts programming for an academic gender and sexuality center.  He’s left-handed and has always wanted to be super hero.

Not only to be a super hero, though, but to write super hero comics.  This is why he created Cartwheel Group 3 Comics.  To collaborate with other aspiring super hero comic creators and to showcase that work here.   All with the hope that it will lead to other opportunities for those involved.
